This past Sunday I ran the Bath half marathon and I even enjoyed it!! I ran it in 2 hours 29 minutes (and 12 seconds) which is by no means speedy but I’m pretty proud nonetheless. Thank you so so much to all those who sponsored me on my just giving page, I’m a bit overwhelmed by the… Continue reading I ran the bath!
Something I really want to work on this year is reducing the amount of plastic rubbish I create especially considering my eXXpedition this summer (practise what you preach and all that!). I have been reading a number of people and communities who strive for zero waste lifestyles. The idea of this is pretty crazy considering… Continue reading That’s rubbish!!
As I mentioned I’m kicking off my fundraising for this summer’s eXXpedition by running the Bath half marathon on the 12th March. This genuinely scares me! It’s crept up on me soo quickly and now I have less than a month to go! I’ve suffered a minor set-back too as I have injured myself with… Continue reading Running Update & Bake Sale
I am writing this mainly for Chris and his love of un-clogged pores! Every so often he will come home and produce a new face wash only for me to scowl and point out that it has micro plastics in it! I don’t think he is alone, the cosmetic industry don’t make it easy for us.… Continue reading How to choose a micro plastic free exfoliater?
I will be running the Bath half marathon on 12th March to raise money for eXXpedition to raise awareness of the problems surrounding marine plastics. Now this is no walk in the park for me as I am definitely NOT a natural runner. I have been following a Nike training plan and am slowly racking up… Continue reading Bath Half Marathon
I wanted to give a bit of a background to the whole reason I am taking part in an eXXpedition trip later on in the summer and introduce about the issues surrounding plastics in the sea. I am not an expert in this field but this is something that I am keen to understand more in… Continue reading The plastic problem
Firstly, welcome to my blog, thanks for stopping by!
I want to share some exciting plans I have for later on in 2017……
I am going to be joining eXXpedition for their Arran to Edinburgh leg of their round Britain tour!
eXXpedition is series of all women voyages to make the unseen seen, from the toxics in our bodies to the toxics in our seas. Their mission is to explore the issue of plastics, chemicals, endocrine disruptors and carcinogens in our personal and global environment that can cause disease. Our aim is to engage women in scientific narratives relating to the consumer choices they make, and their long-term health impacts on themselves and our environment.
This is something that I am really excited about as marine plastics is an issue that I feel very strongly about and am keen to find out more. A big part of the work of eXXpedition is to spread the word about these issues so I will be blogging and sharing my journey aiming to raise awareness of the issues surrounding marine plastics.
I am fund raising to cover my contribution to the trip so please visit my fundraising page to donate. I’m planning a number of activities to help me raise money so stay tuned on that front!
